#66 Back to School - DT Post for Creative Inspirations.

With back to school for many of us right around the corner, including me (I go back to work soon) getting the kids ready can be over whelming. By this time next week, my son will be moving into his dorm and be living in Manhattan. I am excited as he starts out this new phase of his life. But at the same time sad to see him go since I of course will miss him. My house will be so quite with him gone and my other son practically living with his girlfriends family. So it's only me and hubby left in the house.

So with all that said and done, our theme this week is Back to School. So I decided to make an old fashioned "Book Mark".. Now by Old Fashioned I mean this by two fold, many of us don't read "books" anymore, as Nooks ,i-Pads & Kindles are becoming more and more popular and and book stores are becoming a thing of the past. So I made what I now consider an old fashioned "book mark".
I received this image last year from Copic Creations when they were giving away these book mark images to do just that make a book mark. Of course, I never was able to use it then, but am able to use it now. So here is my take on this weeks challenge Back to School.

The book marks are from Michaels, once again I printed out the image on computer paper, lined it back up with the book mark, then scotch taped the book mark onto the computer paper placed it back in the printer and reprinted it.

Creative Inspirations - DT Post

Hi guys, it's my turn to host at Creative Inspirations and I chose Summer Time. And what better thing to do in the summer than spend it at the beach. This little cutie was the perfect choice. His name is Nesto and you can find this adorable image at Mo's Digital Pencil HERE

Nothing special on this card today after all it is for a little boy so no frills so it's kind of plain. I used my Cricut Expression to cut out the little umbrella and pail silouette using A Child's Year cartridge. I cut it 3 times and used dimentionals.

The inside of the card, and you can also see the dimention of the umbrealla:

Creative Inspiration #64 Christmas in July

This week it's Lanny's turn to pick our challenge and she decided that the challenge for this fortnight would be "Christmas in July". Well I must admit, it is sooooo hot here in NYC that I would enjoy just a little snow at the moment.

I used this adorable image from Whipper Snapper called Ike and Mike. The pin, charm and lace are from The Ribbon Girl which you can find HERE and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts which you can find HERE. I then made this adorable fimo to match it. Now I must admit, it it weren't for you-tube videos and the books that I've recently purchased that show how to mold the different shapes for heads, bodies, hands, etc.. I probably would still be making a mess with the fimo. This polar bear is the result of me following one of the step by step tutorials in one of the books by Stacey Morgan. I can now say, I think I have the hang of it... So after all that is said and done, here is my take on this weeks challenge Christmas in July.

DT Post Creative Inspirations Challenge # 62 and DT Call

This week over at Creative Inspirations it's Emma's turn, and she decided to have a go at sewing on a card. Well, I knit, I crochet, and I do all types of needle work, but when it comes to actually sewing with a sewing machine, well, lets just say although I have one, it just collects dust. I have always admired sewing on cards and have always wanted to give it a try, but since I don't have a craft room, I've never wanted to drag it out for the card and then put it away again. So, I kind of cheated. I found this gorgeous paper at Michaels which is pre-sewn. Hey, it works right and fits the challenge this week which is stitching on your card real or fake... So why not give it a try and check out the rest of the teams cards.. They've all worked so hard on them, and I know they would love hearing from you as would I. Our sponsors this week are Quioxtic Paper and Little Claires Designes
We are also having a DT calll, so if you are interested, just and DT after your entry.

So here is my Card for the Challenge:

Creative Inspirations DT Card Challenge #59

Before I say anything about this weeks challenge over at Creative Inspirations, I'd like to wish all my blogging buddies a Happy Mother's Day!!! Hope you all enjoy the day.. now onto the challenge

This week over at Creative Inspirations it's Bea's turn to host the challenge, and she chose Glitz & Bling.... Well what girl doesn't love Glitz & Bling. Our sponsers this week are Simon Says

and Joanna Sheen where you can win a L10 voucher

My girlfriend sent my this "CUTE" Sticker all the way from Arizona, and I love it!!! Thanks, Kris.. the color is such a beautiful turquoise/blue and I knew immediately what I wanted to do, but of course, nothing turns out the way you first invisioned it. I originally wanted to place the word "CUTE" along the bottom as I did for the one that had the word Baby on the bottom. Although I did this card 6x6, it still didn't fit on the bottom, I tried going down with two letters on the top and two letters on the bottom, but it was too blank on the right and nothing quite fit in that blank spot. So I finally broke the word up and left it as is.

This adorable image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and is called "I Love It". I think this little tot is just so adorable holding his train set. Reminds me of when my son was little and never went anywhere without a car in his hands or in one of his pockets.

So why not play along and join in on the fun, and visit our other DT members for some inspiration, they would love hearing from you as would I. So after all that, Here is my card for Glitz & Bling

Image: Mo's Digital-I Love It
Paper: Designer Paper - Sorry, it's a big mystery and Basic Black
Extras: Sticker for the word "CUTE", Doohickey Die, Nestibilities,

Creative Inspirations Challenge #54-Templates

This week over at Creative Inspirations, we were to use a template. Well, over at The Cutting Cafe the very talented Regina has created some beauties. I used the Tea Bag Holder along with the pillow box and thought it would be perfect for someone who was under the weather. So here is my take on the challenge.

I filled the pillow box with sugar cubes, placed Berryblossom White Tea inside the Tea Bag Holder..

a close up of them both...
