Just Magnolia, Magnolia Down Under

I followed the sketch at Just Magnolia, which was designed by Donalda, and since I am reusing the ribbon that came wrapped around my beautiful calendar that Tammi gave me I am also recycling it so this fits Magnolia Down Under which is to reduce/reuse/ or recycle
Once again I followed the tutorial for making copics look like Distress inks given by Suzanne Dean which can be found here

I am loving these flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, don't know what took me so long to join the band wagon. But, I am really enjoying them and glad I finally took the plunge.

Oh Fudge!!!! - Magnolia Down Under-A Gift for You

Fudge, the ultimate chocolate lovers delight!!! I found this recipe on Allrecipes.com It is so easy and soooooooooo good. I made 3 tins for work as part of my homemade basket for the Principal & 2 Assistant Principal's I work for and then my husband asked me to make 2 more tins for the people in the Physical Therapy place that he goes to. I have one more batch to go, and then I'm done, which hopefully will get into the tin before my son takes any more samples...lol

This also fits the Magnolia Down Under Challenge which is a gift for you..
So here goes. I used the adorable Chef Edwin for the recipe card that I made to go along with the tin.

MDUC #68 & Magnolia Stamp Lovers Sparkling

Haven't had a chance to make any cards lately, by the time I get home from work, I'm too pooped to pop, and my weekends have been very full. But I knew I had to play with this sketch by Debbie at MDU and at least get a Halloween card done. So this is my take on the MDU Sketch and Sparkling for Magnolia Stamp Lovers Challenge which will be my first entry for this Challenge.

A Vintage Christmas in July

I did this for the Just Magnolia Challenge which is to make a vintage card and paired it up with the Magnolia Down Under Challenge which is to create a Christmas Card. Well as soon as I saw the challenges I knew it was time to ink up this beautiful image that I received from my sweet friend Tammi... I also decided to try my hand at making a countdown card. So fun..took me all day, but it was tons of fun and now that I made one, definately will do a few more.. Well at least that's what I say now..lol...anyway you can find the directions here
I heat embossed Liquid Applique around the trim of her coat, and went back to my roots and used my aqua painter to paint the ribbon.

Friday Sketchers 110 Meets Magnolia Down Under #54

It has been ages that I have been able to sit down and do any kind of crafting. My absense was due to my husbands MS which has finally taken a toll on his body, his legs don't work like they used to so things have been quite hard around here. He is basically in a wheelchair now, so it takes it's toll on everyone in the family. In spite of all this, his spirits are high, and he has a great outlook on everything.

So after all that is said and done, I made this for my sons 20th birthday which is tomorrow. It is for both the Magnolia Down Under Challenge and the Friday Sketchers Challenge. Nothing like waiting til the last minute, but it did get me into crafting again, and I hope it sparks an interest again. Then again, my son never would have forgiven me if I purchased a store bought card..lol

Here goes...

Magnolia Down Under & Just Magnolia

Well, I know I've been AWOL for awhile.. but sometimes it's hard for me to find the time during the week to play...I did this card on Saturday which fits both Magnolia Challenges, but, I am just finding the chance to upload it now. Magnolia Down Under turns one this week so go check it out here
Here is a close up
The weather here was unbelievable, we had 75 mph winds which took down the scaffolding on my building, ripped fenching off the roof of the bulding across from me, We had a black out (glad I wasn't in the elevator or you would have heard me whatever state you were in) and the police had both buldings blocked off not allowing cars into the parking lot. trees down all over the place, flooding (well I'm on a peninsula so need I say more) wires are still down, so once I was in, I stayed in, I watched the waves re-claim the beach for as far as I could see from my terrace, the waves were under the boardwalk, and the rock jetty was almost completely submerged. After all that we have gorgeous weather today, in the 60's, wish I could play hookie and go see the parade down 5th Avenue. Happy St. Patricks Day everyone...

Magnolia Down Under

Alas, this will probably be my last post till later in the week.. Back to work tomorrow so back to the wind & grind of things. Definately not looking forward to that alarm clock going off at 4:50 AM, but I must say, I really enjoyed this very relaxing week off since I was able to play til my hearts content even in between Dr's appointment & a Broadway show. I look forward to next month when I have another week off for Spring Break. Anyway, This was done for the Magnolia Down Under challenge, which is to create an easel card. Well, that's right up my alley since I love making those. So here is my easel card for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge
