Creative Inspirations Challenge #54-Templates

This week over at Creative Inspirations, we were to use a template. Well, over at The Cutting Cafe the very talented Regina has created some beauties. I used the Tea Bag Holder along with the pillow box and thought it would be perfect for someone who was under the weather. So here is my take on the challenge.

I filled the pillow box with sugar cubes, placed Berryblossom White Tea inside the Tea Bag Holder..

a close up of them both...

Happy Anniversary Nanny & Papa

For those of you who read that I headed into the city yesterday to see "Rain".. OMG!!! It was FANTASTIC!!!! What a tribute they put on, and do you know what's was even better, it is restaurant week in New York, so we ate at AJ Maxwells... talk about mouth watering steak.. We had from soup to nuts at $35 per person.. It was well worth it. Many restaurants including Bobby Van's and the 21 Club are participating, but after looking at the menu for Maxwell's who could resist.

Well after all that is said and done, I made this card from my inlaws who will be celebrating there 61st wedding Anniversary on Sunday. So I used this digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil. It is from there senior collection and is called Jack & Ginger.

I used an older sketch from Friday Sketchers and papers from my DCWV Linen Closet Pack. I'm determed...lol I thought the grey tones were perfect for this image with a touch of pink to break it up.

I did the inside as well:

Magnolia File Folder

This is my first attempt at a pre-scheduled post, if I did this right, it will post today Wednesday, February 23, 2011 and I will be Broadway Bound with my two sons and my oldest sons girlfriend to see "Rain" which is a tribute to the Beatles. We are huge Beatle fans so this is a treat. It was such a hit that it was extended for a few more weeks and I was lucky to get tickets. It will also be the first of two trips into the city this week to see a Broadway show. My next trip will be on Saturday to see "Billy Elliot". I'll be seeing this with a few of my colleagues from work. We try to see a Broadway show each and every time we have a break from school. Next break we'll be seeing "Sister Act". I am so glad that I am a New Yorker and Manhattan is only a train ride away.

Anyway, after all that is said and done. Here is my Accordian File Folder

A friend asked for a few Magnolia images, so I thought what better way to present them to her but in the accordian file folder. Like me, her favorite color is blue so I did it in blues tones to personalize it for her. This is the third one I've made, and you'd think I'd learn my lesson when it comes to using my word window punch, which is used to punch the hole for the strap that holds it together. I did it after the file folder was done and thought it was straight, but alas, the hole is crooked but I guess that's what makes it hand made.

Here it is open, it can hold about 4 images per pocket:

The directions can be found
here

It was fun to make, and I'm sure I will make a few more, only this time I'll punch the hole before I put it together..

You Rock!!!!

This week over at the Kenny K's Krafty Girlz the theme is circles, it could be your image in a circle, paper with circles, It's your intrepretation. I must say, I was stumpted, as I wanted to put my image in a circle, so I started clicking around and decided to use this weeks sketch over at Friday Sketchers. It's perfect, so I used not only paper that had circles, but a circle in the layout as well. I also challenged myself with the colors, which is really out of my comfort zone, but I'm trying to put a dent in the huge stash of paper I have before I can buy more. And believe me ladies, I have tons and tons of paper as I'm sure we all have..lol So here goes my take on Kenny K's, Friday Sketchers, Bunny Zoe's and Copic Creations, since it has yellow and orange in it, and those two colors are on the warm side of the wheel, I think it fits.

Valentine Treats

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!!!!

I saw this adorable Dress Box from Sizzix and knew I had to have it. This is one of there larger 12 x 12 dies made specifically for the Big Shot Pro. I think it would make a perfect treat box for my soon to be nieces bridal shower which will probably be held on June 25th. Not sure what colors I will do for her yet, and also not sure how many I'm making but would love to get a head start since I think it will be close to 100. At the moment, I'm thinking white on white, or what ever color her bridal party is wearing. So need to speak to her to find out...yes she's planning her own shower...

Anyway, I decided to experiment with them on Saturday and made seven of them in pink for my co-workers as a Valentine's Day treat. The black and white one well, I said I was experimenting. I must say I honesty like that one best mush prettier IRL. maybe, I'll go with that type of paper for my niece. The inside has a small box I filled with Valentine M&M's. I used toole for the skirt, and cut out doilies for the lace, my sizzix leaf die for the accent on the flower, and Stampin Up's pearl's for the coller and accent on the toole.

This would also be perfect for a Sweet 16 or any type of girly party favor.

Paper: Stampin Up: Pretty In Pink 12 x 12, Black Sparkle I found at Michaels
Extras: Sizzix Big Shot Pro Dress Box, Toole, Doily Sizzix Leaf Die Cut, Stampin Up Pearls & White Rose.

Thanks for looking, and hope you like it.

Creative Inspirations - My First DT Card - Challenge #53 Distressing

I am so excited to be a part of the Creative Inspiration Challenge Blog. The Design Team is full of some very talented ladies, I was so excited when I found out the news that I was now a part of the team. This is my first card as a DT member. This week, it was Cor's Challenge and she decided that distressing would be her theme. Something I must admit I haven't done in quite a long time. So I took out my trusty distressing tool and distressed along the edges. Our sponsors this week are Simon Says and Stichy Bear Stamps, so why not play along and don't worry, if you don't have a distressing tool to distress your edges, your fingernail, sandpaper or nail file will work just fine, so come on girls get creative and play along.

I used NY Socialite which is a stamp that I neglected for quite too long. It was one of first stamps that I purchased when I began making cards a few years ago.

I distressed the edges both inside and out:

Love Blooms

My Sister and Brother-in-Law's Anniversary is on the 17th. I thought this image from Lili of the Valley: Love Blooms was perfect for them. I followed the sketch at Lili of the Valley created by Dawny.
Since, I used Basic Grey papers, this also fits this weeks Basic Grey #37 which is All Heart. Since there is a heart on the sentiment and the tree is shaped like a heart, it counts right....

Teacup Fairy for Babies 1st Valentine

My principal asked me to make a card for her grandsons first Valentine. As soon as I saw this adorable fairy from Mo's Digital Pencil I knew it was perfect for her. She collects tea pots and tea cups. Let me tell you I have always admired digi's but I never had the correct paper to print, the paper would always jam in the printer and what a pain that was... but now that I have the right stuff, watch out guys, cause the skies the limit...lol

This was my first Mo's Digital image but with so many adorable images, I know I'll be back for more.

Mermaids By the Sea

I've been asked to make a few cards for a someone at work one card specifically with this image since it is for her daughter. She just fell in love with the mermaid. So I followed the Sketch at Sketch Saturday, and the color theme at the Copic Creations which this week is to use colors from the "cool" family. I choose blue greens and this is what I came up with. I tried by best to get a better shot but the light and camera were not cooperating...Sorry :(

This fits the following Challenges:
