It's a Blizzard

Well it's a White on White Blizzard over at Sassy Cheryl's this week challenge and I decided to use this Flat Bottom Snowy again, before he's forgotten about until next year. I think he is just so cute and you can find him HERE. So here is my take on this week's It's a Blizzard. A word I don't want to hear in the forecast espeacially after getting snowed in last year on the day after Christmas and New York came to a stand still for the first time in years, and I had tickets on the 27th to see a show, and in New York, the City never sleeps. And speaking of shows, I am Broadway bound again or I should say off-broadway bound to see Rent tomorrow for a matinee...

Ok enough of that...here is my take on the White on White Blizzard challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's hope you like it, and I hope it's OK since there is a touch of color...

Creature comforts LOTV #120

Another quick post from me today, this was done for my little nephew James who turned 6 two weeks ago. I made him this card which of couse couldn't be frilly so I kept it clean and simple. I had to remind myself no flowers. I find CAS cards so hard to do, I always want to add something. I got to see him on Saturday and his new baby brother Alex (yes ladies I'm a Great Aunt again) he is all of two weeks old. I thought it was so sweet that Mom and Dad came to our house which was sort of a surprise. They knew hubby couldn't come to them to visit the baby, so they brought the baby to him. And yes, tears are still in my eyes because I couldn't believe how thoughtful that was, they have know idea how much that touched my heart.

Anyway here is the card I did for James

Well, it still Pat's turn to be our hostess with the mostess, and this week she decided for us to do something a little different with our cards and try our hands at a fold or two. So I had to put on my thinking cap since I did an easel card last week, I didn't want to do another one this week and Viola!!!! the light bulb went off or is it on and I remembered these Candy Bar Cards. So here is my take on this weeks theme Fancy Folds.

I love making these Candy Bar Cards, especially when it comes to eating these "King" size chocolate bars inside. Here is a picture of the Candy Bar Card Open:

I 'm Thankful For My Sister

Well, It's now Pat's turn to be the hostess with the mostess and she wants us to give thanks, So I decided to be thankful for my big sister, and thankful that she is still here with us as a breast cancer survior.

This image called "Step Sister" reminded me of my sister who loves playing pranks and doing stupid things especially the bunny ear part, she just can't help herself, and I must admit we laugh and laugh and laugh. So when I saw this image at Mo's it immedately reminded me of her and all the things she did to me when we were small. I have pictures of my sister putting bunny ears behind your head while taking pictures... you think I'm lying, you'll see...

So of course I had to use Step Sisters which you can find HERE

It's A Treasure Hunt - LOTV #118

A quick post from me today, I followed Bev's sketch over at Lili of the Valley. Once again, I've had this adorable image since it was first released and am first getting around to using him. This is for my friends son a little belated but, the thought is just the same. So I thought I would make it a little interesting since it is pirate themed after all. So his sister is hiding his gift cards around the house with clues and he will have to go on a treasure hunt in order to find his three i-tune gift cards.

Unfortunately, I will not be there to witness the hunt, but I am sure that I will hear all about it on Thursday when the hunt begins. So Good Luck Steven.

Halloween Treat Boxes

Taylor my son's girlfriend and I decided we would craft and make these coffins for Halloween. Let me tell you what a conversation starter these were when people asked us what we did today?, and we answered, We made coffins. You had to see the look on their faces. Especially when one of them said, You do realize I am an ex-New York City Police Officer and currently a a Sheriff in New Jersey. Then we showed him what we made...lol Anyway, these are the two that we made for her nieces. We really had a great time making them and can't wait to craft and bond again. We are really looking forward to it.

This one we did with ghosts, this is the top of the box:
