My Favorite Mo Cards

Over the year, I have made quite a few cards so it was so hard for me to pick out one favorite especially when it comes to a Mo Manning image after all they are so dang cute.  So since I had a hard time choosing a favorite, I decided to post a few... and these are them..

A special birthday for a special person. This one even
came with a matching box!!

This was made for one of the teachers that I work with and she holds a special place in my heart.  So it will always be a favorite to me.

This baby card was made for my Assistant Principals daughter

A last but not least, my St. Patrick's Day card for
a dear friend.

Thanks so much for your support over this last year.  Your kind comments and words of encouragment has meant so much.

May you and your loved ones enjoy this holiday season, and may this New Year bring only Peace, Love, and Happines..

"D" is for Decking the Halls

Please read this entire post
I know it's long.....Sorry

Hey everyone, I am  back home after many weeks at my Brother and Sister-in-Law's. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes and let you know if feels good to be home especially with the holidays right around the corner.  The devistation is still all around in the Rockaways and it will take a long long time for things to return to "Normal"  but if feels good to be sleeping in my own bed.

This card  is a very special card, and I've made it with tears in  my eyes as will the next few cards that you will be seeing.  The kindness of strangers who have reached out to me has meant more to me than words can ever say.  Co-workers have purchased clothing and gift cards, Parents of students have also done the same and  I've had  complete strangers adopt me and send me gift cards to Bed Bath & Beyond to help replace many of the items that I lost that were in storage on the main floor of my lobby.  This was done by the suggestion of the teacher that I am mentioning below who is a marathon runner and coordinated the adoption so when she asked me to make a card, I jumped right in.

She ran in the Cystic Fibrosis maraton and has reached out to the entire school to make cards for a 9 year old boy who is in his last stages of this terrible disease.  His final wish is to make the Guinese Book of World Records to receive the most holiday cards.  The record is 35,000 our students are working diligently making cards and I ask that you do the same.  It doesn't have to be a hand made card, it can be a store bought card, but can you please send him a card to make his final wish come true.  I don't ask for much  but this is the least I can do as a favor to her to reach out to you guys and ask for you to mention it on your blogs as well. Maybe we can all make this little boys wish come true.

and with all that said and done, this is the card that I made for him  His name is Dalton Dingus and if you choose to mail him a card you can send it directly to him at Hc62 Box 1249, Salyersville, KY 41465

and now a little about my card, as you know this weeks theme is "D" so I used Decorated Tree which you can find
HERE and Santa Kai which you can find HERE

and Mo is having her first ever holiday sale with 25% off your entier order so don't delay, cause this holiday sale ends on December 17th.  The coupon code is CHEERS2U.

I hope I inspired someone to join in on the fun, I can't wait to see what you come up with, just don't for get to use one of Mo's images. If you need more inspiration don't forget to visit the rest of the teams blogs they really out did themselves and came up with some great ideas just click HERE to see what they came up with and as Pat always says, don't forget to leave them a little love.

#160 C is for

Well, It's Thursday, and it's time for a new challenge at Mo's and we thought we'd try something new.  So for this week we went with the letter "C".   So for me C is for, Cute Cat Costume.  I did this as a commissioned card for someone to give to a new mom who's birthday is on Halloween.  It is a card from a Baby to a Mom.  So I though that the sentiment I came up with was appropriate from a little one...  Anyway, I used adorable littleKitty Kai which you can find
HERE and HERE

Sandy's Destruction of Rockaway

These are some of the pictures of Shore Front Parkway, the street where I live.  The blocks are short and all this is walking distance from my house.  I did not take these pictures but someone named Stephen Pekar did and I downloaded them so you can see the massive destruction.  They are not expected to restore electricity  until mid December.  The Mayor finally said that Rockaway was the hardest hit area in New York.  About time you realized there are 4 other boroughs besides Manhattan.

The end building of my complex which with the boardwalk smashed into it there are 5 building next to each other, mine is the the the third one and had pieces of the boardwalk on it also

The basket ball court covered in sand where my son Michael played al the time

One of the hand ball courts
This is the complex where one of the teachers I work with lives
This is where I turn to go over the bridge to go to work
This is Beach 91st Street where I first lived when I got married and both  my boys were born.  As you can see, it is
un-passable since the boardwalk with street light attached is blocking it. This is on Shore Front Parkway where I live now but only a few block up the road.

No more Boardwalk as you can see
The building next to me
These are just some of the blocks around me.  Like I said I am fine, my family is fine.  Thank you everyone for your prayers.

Lots of hugs

#158 Cute & Cuddly

Well, it's time for Mo's which means it's Thursday and this weeks theme is Cute and Cuddly.   I used this cute little Fairy called Kiki to make a card for a baby shower.  My Sister-in-Law asked me to make  a baby blanket for a shower that she is going to for a co-workers daugher.  They know it is a girl so I was asked to do the blanket in purple. I guess that they are doing the room in those colors.    Once  I saw this lilac, I knew I had to make this blanket and use this  Fairy called Baby Fairy Kiki which you can find HERE.  I fell in love with her.  I just want to pinch that little behind.  She is just so precious and to me so cute.

So here is a picture of the card

The pattern for the blanket is called Alex's Baby Blanket and can be found on Raverly
I also made matching booties and but after the picture was taken

I hope I inspired someone to join in on the fun, I can't wait to see what you come up with, just don't for get to use one of Mo's images. If you need more inspiration don't forget to visit the rest of the teams blogs they really out did themselves and came up with some great ideas just click HERE to see what they came up with and as Pat always says, don't forget to leave them a little love.

C is for Candy Corn

Please scroll down to see my Mo's Digital Pencil Post.

This is my little peanut he is 4 months old, and with the cold weather approaching, I decided to make him this adorable Candy Corn hat...  So far I've made 4 of these, two small, one medium, and one large.  These were so quick and easy to make.   I used Cascade Alpaca 220 yarn, in Orange, Yellow and White and this is the end result.

These are two out of the four.  I made two for my little nephews whom I call my peanuts cause they were so small when they were born, and two for my Assistant Principals who each have a grandson.  One born at the same time as my little peanut but he was almost 10 pounds so I call  him my meatball.  They were a HUGE hit with everyone!!!!

Can't wait to make the Santa hats which are next on the list...lol

Thanks for stopping by...Debbie

#152 Buttons

Once again it's Thusday and it's means not only is it time for Mo's but the weekend is almost here and that's a good thing especially since I'm back at work.  Now this week our theme is buttons, and since I always use buttons on a masculine card, I decide to go the CAS route and use Johan which you can find
HERE.   I made this for my son Michael  who's birtday was in August but I am posting it now.  He loves playing the guitar, and if you scroll down a few posts, you'll actually see him playing the ukulele for me. He surprised me and posted a song on you-tube and dedicated it to me.  I cried like a baby when I saw it.

Here is the inside of the card:

Anything Goes at Mo's # 151 and Something for Moi

It's the first Thursday of the Month so you know what that means, it's Anything Goes at Mo's. So once again, the skies the limit so use you imagination and let your creative juices flow and lets see what you come up with.  Just remember you must use one of Mo's images and you're good to go.

As for me, I had to have this Fall Fairy the second I saw it and once again decided to merge it with the pumpkins.  I love the fall maybe because I love the colors or maybe because I'm a fall baby, or maybe because it's that crispness in the air, but whatever it is, this is what I came up with.

I haven't made a criss cross card in ages and wanted to make something different, so I decided to make one of those. I used my cricut to cut the circle at 4 1/2 " using the George cartridge since I don't have any large nesties and merged Fall Fairy Jensen which you can find HERE and Pumpkins which you can find HERE

I found this poem on-line and thought it was perfect for the criss-cross card:

I also made a shawl for myself. Hey with the fall coming up, it will come to good  and since  I've been knitting for everyone else, I decided knit this shawl for moi and I have a few more lined up, but another baby blanket for a shower for my sister in law in between that and a sweater I am making for myself which should be finished shortly.  Again this is a free pattern on Raverly and is called Acadian and is knit from tip to tip.

A close up of the pattern on the edge of the shawl

Yarn: Lion Brand Martha Stewart Crafts Extra Soft Wool Blend-Buttercream (4 skeins)
Pattern: Acadian
I will be entering this into the following challenges:

1. Lollipops Crafts: HERE Fall Frolic
2. Cute Card Thursday: HERE Autumn Gold
3. Make it Monday: HERE Always Anthing Goes
4. Fab n Funky: HERE The Colors of Autumn

Layers #150 and Pat and I Go to New York

This will be a long post ladies..Sorry but Pat my wonderful DT sister decided to come visit me in New York before I go back to work on Tuesday.  We kept talking about it, and finally just did it. We stayed at the Park Central Hotel which by the way was the perfect location and had a wonderful time.    I honesty can't wait to do it again which of course we plan on doing in another six months.   We went to Ellis Island which sad to say, I've never been before.  We saw two Broadway Shows The first One Man, Two Guvnors which we laughed so hard my sides still hurt.  The second, Silence the Musical which is parody on Silence of the Lambs which I would tell you to run the other way and not go to see it.  We go suckered into a comedy show,  ate some fabulous foods and had a wonderful time.  Here are a few pictures of our New York Adventure.

Yes, we even have water taxi's in New York.  Oh and I taught Pat how to hail a real Taxi cab in New York
Taxi!!!!

This is a statue of the Merchant Marines to honor those that died.  It is along the path while waiting to go through  the security check point before boarding the ferry to Ellis Island.   Oh yeah, the one I tried to pass up...  I'm sure you would have heard about it on the news.
Lady Liberty along the way.   We did not stop on Liberty Island becuase she is under construction but you still could have hopped off the ferry and walked around.

I really enjoyed Ellis Island as did Pat.  We met some interesting people and I got some education and can't wait to go again.  So glad you took me Pat.
We went to diner at  a Brazilian Restaurant on the east side called Alfama.  Michael and his girlfriend met us and we had a wonderful time.  The food was Fabulous.

Ok.. On to our challenge which is another easy challenge for us this week at Mo's...Layers now how easy is that.  So I hope you come and join us this week, just remember to use one of Mos adorable images and you're good to go.

This was a commissioned card and I had to rush it, so I am not happy with the skin tone.  I know I can do much better so I will work on it.  But as long as she was happy with it, that's all that matters.   I used Cupcake Princess which you can find
HERE

I am entering this into the following challenges:
