Winter Wonderland-Challenge #18-Purse Box with Directions

So glad that I am home today so that I can play along. NYC schools are closed for Yom Kippur so I am taking advantage of my day off. This week at Winter Wonderland, the challange is to make a Gift Card, Gift Box or Wrapping Paper. So I choose to make a Purse Box using my Top Note dies. The original directions were sent to me by my friend Debbie in Washington. I am not sure where she got them from so who ever designed this.. Thank you. But when I went to follow them, I realized that scoring directions were backwards... Found this out the hard way, so I am re-writing them so you can follow along.

Directions below using a Halloween Theme. I will send this little purse to my niece filled with candy corn.

1 - 5 1/2" X 6" piece of Card Stock
2 - Top Note Die Cuts using Card Stock
2 - Top Note Die Cuts using Designer Paper I cut around the dotted lines so that it will be layered.
After you place the 2 pieces together, you need to trim one end of the top note so that you have a straight line..see picture below.. the straight end will go to the top of the purse. Do this on both pieces. the picture shows one cut and one not cut
1 - Large Nestie Scallop Circle using Card Stock
1 - Large Nestie Circle using Designer Paper
2 - Large Eyelets for circle. This is to thread your ribbon through
1 - Piece or Ribbon
1 - Flower or what ever you choose to embelish the closure
1 - 5/8" Velcro Coin Rounds for closure
Double sided tape
Paper Piercer to pierce holes in scallops

Score the 5 1/2" side at 1" and 4 1/2",
Turn and take the 6" side and score at 2 1/2 & 3 1/2. Cut the 2 1/2" & the 3 1/2" line up to the score do this on both sides so it looks like this...

Assemble and you will have a little box see picture below along with all the cut pieces

Assembled box with top note pieces attached will look like this...
For the top of the purse which is the scallop circle, I eyeballed it up to the
2 1/2" line of my scor pal and scored at the 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" and folded it and placed the eyelets in it.

Put ribbon through the top, Assemble pieces, put your velcro circle on the inside of the front portion of the circle decorate closure and viola.. Purse Box

I hope I explained everything so that you understand, this is my first attempt at a tutorial, Enjoy, and thanks for looking

Debbie

Wow Debbie!!! I love these purses!!! And, as usual, you have fabulous flowers on the top 2, they really add to the design. I love that Halloween paper too. Thanks for posting the directions, I'll have to try one of these later. Also, the cute little fern like leaves behind your flowers.....is that the Martha Stewart punch? Thanks!! :-)
