"D" is for Decking the Halls

Please read this entire post
I know it's long.....Sorry

Hey everyone, I am  back home after many weeks at my Brother and Sister-in-Law's. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes and let you know if feels good to be home especially with the holidays right around the corner.  The devistation is still all around in the Rockaways and it will take a long long time for things to return to "Normal"  but if feels good to be sleeping in my own bed.

This card  is a very special card, and I've made it with tears in  my eyes as will the next few cards that you will be seeing.  The kindness of strangers who have reached out to me has meant more to me than words can ever say.  Co-workers have purchased clothing and gift cards, Parents of students have also done the same and  I've had  complete strangers adopt me and send me gift cards to Bed Bath & Beyond to help replace many of the items that I lost that were in storage on the main floor of my lobby.  This was done by the suggestion of the teacher that I am mentioning below who is a marathon runner and coordinated the adoption so when she asked me to make a card, I jumped right in.

She ran in the Cystic Fibrosis maraton and has reached out to the entire school to make cards for a 9 year old boy who is in his last stages of this terrible disease.  His final wish is to make the Guinese Book of World Records to receive the most holiday cards.  The record is 35,000 our students are working diligently making cards and I ask that you do the same.  It doesn't have to be a hand made card, it can be a store bought card, but can you please send him a card to make his final wish come true.  I don't ask for much  but this is the least I can do as a favor to her to reach out to you guys and ask for you to mention it on your blogs as well. Maybe we can all make this little boys wish come true.

and with all that said and done, this is the card that I made for him  His name is Dalton Dingus and if you choose to mail him a card you can send it directly to him at Hc62 Box 1249, Salyersville, KY 41465

and now a little about my card, as you know this weeks theme is "D" so I used Decorated Tree which you can find

and Mo is having her first ever holiday sale with 25% off your entier order so don't delay, cause this holiday sale ends on December 17th.  The coupon code is CHEERS2U.

I hope I inspired someone to join in on the fun, I can't wait to see what you come up with, just don't for get to use one of Mo's images. If you need more inspiration don't forget to visit the rest of the teams blogs they really out did themselves and came up with some great ideas just click HERE to see what they came up with and as Pat always says, don't forget to leave them a little love.

Hey sweetie! Glad to see you back in business, so to speak...lol. It must be great to be back home although things changed a bit and with people helping out it's always easier to get over bad times. The important thing is that you and your family are safe.
So sorry to hear about that 9 yr old boy; this is such a sad story:(.
Your card is delightful; love the shimmery paper and that wonderful sentiment!
Big hugs sending your way!
