CAS Card
This is a Clean and Simple card, I used a Saturday Evening Post Image which I think is called Zebra pair, I did this for my BIL's birthday which is in two weeks, I needed to do 2 masculine cards which to me is so difficult. I usually reach for my brayer when doing those, but wanted to ink this baby up since I've had it for a while and haven't used it, so two down and one to go.
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to visit my blog, I want to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year. I am truly blessed to have met all of you through this forum.
Cheers!!

Ta Da!!!! Finally
I haven't had time to do anything lately. Just not enough time in the day to do all the things I want to do. Did alot of running around yesterday, and have to take hubby for an MRI today.. so probalby won't have time today. But, I have the week off, so hopefully I can get a few cards done this week for the January and Febuary birthday's coming up. These adorable images were sent to me for my birthday, I think they are so sweet and cute, I know when the stash is all gone, I will probably order my very own.

First let me say farewell to Rach, Kim & Martine. Your work has so inspired me, so I will continue to peek in on your blogs so I don't miss a beat. What a great sketch to leave us with Martine. Here is my take on the sketch.
This is the first card that I did, I followed last weeks Whiff of Joy Challenge, but alas, never got a chance to post it in time for the challenge.

Piano Lessons-PDCC03
Just a quick post today, nothing fancy, This was the card I made for my Mom's 78th Birthday which was 3 weeks ago, just haven't had the chance to upload it, It is from the Saturday Evening Post series and so reminded me of all the piano lessons my parents endured over the many years of practicing that I had to purchase the image and make her a card. The image was much much bigger than I thought it would be so not much embelishing. Now to do Dad's card who's 85th Birthday is Sunday. Sandi thanks for letting me know about this challenge..

iCopic #15-Red Hair & Just Magnoia - Monochrome
Wow 2 challenges in one card again. Over at the iCopic site this weeks challenge is Red Hair. Well once again thanks to the wonderful tutorials, I think I got it. And over at the Just Magnolia site, Monochrome is this weeks theme. Since I had this paper out, I decided use blues. Because of the chaos this week, I took baby steps in putting this card together, I colored it on Sunday, cut the papers, Monday morning before I went to work, assembled it on Tuesday, Wednesday I added the ribbon again before I went to work and finally put it together and took a picture so I can get it in for the Magnolia challange. Hopefull things will run smoother next week and it won't take me a week to get one card done...lol

PennyBlack # 73 White on White
This was done for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. This weeks challange is White on White. Not as bad as it sounds since the card and all embellishments are in white, the only color is on your image. I used my trusty DCWV pre-embossed card and my Pendant nesties and lots of dimentionals. To finish the card off, I wanted to place a white ribbon with a huge bow accross the center, but alas, I don't have any white ribbon, so maybe next time I hit Michaels I'll pick some up and finish it off, but for now, here's my take on the challenge.

Sketch Saturday #74-Happy Birthday Mouse
What a great sketch this week over at Sketch Saturday. This week we're up Challenge 74. I am glad I was able to play along since I'm still working overtime even put in a few hours yesterday, so I only get to catch up on the weekends and lately those are jammed packed as well. At first I didn't like how the cake came out, I was trying to match the paper, but now it's growing on me.
The colors I used are below. The Ciao is B60 which I finally ordered the sketch for. That and a few others should be here tomorrow... Can't wait for Mr. Postman...
As always, thanks for looking

Copic Challange # 14 - Black-Emma Cow
This was done for the Copic Creations Challange, this weeks color is black. This is a bi-monthly challange which can be found on my side bar. I've learned so much from this site it's unbelievable. Suzanne Dean gives some awesome video tutorials, since I am a visual person this is right up my alley and of course each time I watch, I order new copics. So I now have the Grey "C's" on there way. So this was done using the few grey's I have.. can't wait to get the new ones to really give this a try.. So thanks Suzanne for those wonderful tutorials that you make for us novices.

Wow, two challanges in one card.. I think this is a first. Over at Just Magnolia the theme is Bright & Zingy, well I think the greens are bright enough to cover that area, and over at Cute Card Thursday challenge # 82 is Spook Fest. So I used this adorable Tilda as my inspiration
The copics I used are above. Hopefully next time I'll get a clearer image, I'm trying and will get this right eventually, At least there not upside down this time

Penny Black Sketch - Buttons & Bows #70
This was done for the Penny Black Challenge. This week we were to use buttons and bows, I choose just to use buttons, I have tons and tons of them, and sad to say, I couldn't tie a bow no matter how hard I tried, I'd still be working on the bow. But maybe, the bow on the candy cane counts... It's a stretch, but it might just be enough. Anyway, this is an older image from Penny Black. An oldie but a goodie

Cheerleaders Rock
One of the girls at work asked me to make a cheerleader card for her god daughter who made the cheerleader squad at school. I lucked out since I do own a cheerleader stamp. This adorable image is from Whipper Snapper. The squad colors are green and white. Hope she likes it...
I will try and take a picture of the copics I've used. I see fellow bloggers do it and I know it comes in handy.. Next time though, I'll make sure all the colors are facing the right way...lol.

This is for my BFF's birthday which is on Monday.

Simon Says Boo
Isn't this image adorable, I think it's an Ollie. I am not quite sure of the name since I received this in a swap. But finally took him out and put him to good use. Still have a few more Halloween cards to do. So hopefully I'll be able to crank them out this weekend.
Another quick post before I head off for work. Couldn't blog hop yesterday, so will try and catch up today. I didn't have internet for over 24 hours, they came to fix the problem only to recreate another one "No phones" Technician was at my house for at least 7 hours trying to fix the problem. Guess he needed OT. But now that they replaced Everything, and I mean Everything. Hopefully I will not have to go through this again. This was the 3rd incident since I upgraded to FIOS... and hopefully the last.

House Mouse Challange #53-Buttons
One of the little buggers at school got me sick. Not sure which one, but I'll get him...lol but anyway, what better way to spend a Saturday afternoon when you have a sore throat, than to craft. This week over at the House Mouse Blog the challange is to use buttons on your card. So I decided to use this image to get a start on my Halloween cards. I also received a package of goodies that I ordered earlier in the week and couldn't wait to use my new nestibilitie dies. There are so many possibilities with these. I used some left over Stampin Up Designer Paper, my Martha Stewart Craft Punch and my trustie Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Winter Wonderland-Challenge #18-Purse Box with Directions
So glad that I am home today so that I can play along. NYC schools are closed for Yom Kippur so I am taking advantage of my day off. This week at Winter Wonderland, the challange is to make a Gift Card, Gift Box or Wrapping Paper. So I choose to make a Purse Box using my Top Note dies. The original directions were sent to me by my friend Debbie in Washington. I am not sure where she got them from so who ever designed this.. Thank you. But when I went to follow them, I realized that scoring directions were backwards... Found this out the hard way, so I am re-writing them so you can follow along.
Directions below using a Halloween Theme. I will send this little purse to my niece filled with candy corn.
1 - 5 1/2" X 6" piece of Card Stock
2 - Top Note Die Cuts using Card Stock
2 - Top Note Die Cuts using Designer Paper I cut around the dotted lines so that it will be layered.
After you place the 2 pieces together, you need to trim one end of the top note so that you have a straight line..see picture below.. the straight end will go to the top of the purse. Do this on both pieces. the picture shows one cut and one not cut
1 - Large Nestie Scallop Circle using Card Stock
1 - Large Nestie Circle using Designer Paper
2 - Large Eyelets for circle. This is to thread your ribbon through
1 - Piece or Ribbon
1 - Flower or what ever you choose to embelish the closure
1 - 5/8" Velcro Coin Rounds for closure
Double sided tape
Paper Piercer to pierce holes in scallops
Score the 5 1/2" side at 1" and 4 1/2",
Turn and take the 6" side and score at 2 1/2 & 3 1/2. Cut the 2 1/2" & the 3 1/2" line up to the score do this on both sides so it looks like this...
Assemble and you will have a little box see picture below along with all the cut pieces
Assembled box with top note pieces attached will look like this...
For the top of the purse which is the scallop circle, I eyeballed it up to the
2 1/2" line of my scor pal and scored at the 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" and folded it and placed the eyelets in it.
Put ribbon through the top, Assemble pieces, put your velcro circle on the inside of the front portion of the circle decorate closure and viola.. Purse Box
I hope I explained everything so that you understand, this is my first attempt at a tutorial, Enjoy, and thanks for looking

Merry ChrisMoose-Winter Wonderland #17
This was done for the Winter Wonderland Challange. This weeks challenge was Hot Chocolate. So we had to make a card with that in mind. I remembered I had this wonderful Riley image and imediately dug him out and colored and designed this card. Unfortunately, I never had a chance to assemble it until today so once again I am getting it in in the nick of time and didn't think I would even be able to upload it since I don't have any phones and am shocked my internet is up and running since it wasn't yesterday.
So here I sit waiting for the Verizon guy to get me up and running again. Not a happy camper at the moment since I've only had FIOS for 2 weeks and the text message they sent me said he is due to arrive anywhere today up to 8PM tonight. Seems they don't give you those wonderful windows on Saturdays..ugh!!!!

Sarah Kay
Just a quick post today, since I have so much running around to do. It will be at least another 2 weeks before things slow down at work and I can come home and play. So far I've put in 30 hours of OT this month so by the time I come home I am to pooped to pop as they say so not much crafting is getting done and I so want to play along with all my fellow bloggers. Sorry if I haven't had time to peek in on your blogs as often as I usually do, but I will soon, I promise...
I did this for a co-workers birthday that is on Monday. She is a fellow crafter who comes to my house all the time to play, so I am sure she will enjoy it.
Thanks for looking... and Happy Saturday

Pooh Bear
Nothing fancy today, just a quick post before I run to work. I did this over the weekend and am just getting a chance to upload it. This was made for my little nephew who turns 4 in a few days... What little kid doesn't love good ole Pooh Bear. I purchased this cartridge back in December of last year when they were on sale and have yet to use it, so I dug out my trustly ole cricut and put it to use. It was a fast and fun card to do.

Frosty Challenge at WinterWonderland #15
Over at the Winter Wonderland site, this weeks challenge is to create a card using a snowman in honor of Frosty the Snowman. Now, I cann't get that song out of my head. Well, who doesn't love snowman. This image was from my dear friend in Idaho. Thanks Tammi.. At first, I didn't want to use him since I only had 2 and he is just so darn cute. But hey, now I have a chance to win my very own.
I used a pre-embossed card from DCWV and my trusty nesties. Love layering the squares and colored it in with copics, it was a quick and fun card to do. So thanks for letting me get another card done for the holidays...

My Little Princess Turns 5
My Great Niece will turn 5 in a few weeks. She is such a little princess since our family is 99% boys. So having a little girl in the family makes her even more of a treat for us. It's so much fun shopping for the frilly stuff rather than the rough and tuff stuff. This Gorjuss girl was just perfect for her card, so thanks Tammi for all the wonderful images you sent me. As you can see, I am having tons of fun coloring.

Reflection At The Lake & Nature's Beauty
Well since I had all the stuff out to brayer and my 15 year old soon to be 16 year old son commented on how much he loves my brayered cards when he saw the one I did for my BIL. I did 2 more... Now to decide which one to give him.
I used the mirror image stamp for the reflection of the wolf in the water and then the stamp-a-ma-jig to get the wolf placed just right over the reflection. For the wolf that is on the land part of the card, I first stamped it in my versa mark pad and then in Basic Black Ink. I then put clear embossing powder over it and heat embossed so that when i brayered on the sky and mountains it did not pick up any of the ink...To get the shape of the mountains, I ripped a post it, I placed one half on the top and the other half on the bottom for the reflection. I sponged on first Certainly Celery and then Old Olive. As for the tree, I stamped on the reflection again using the mirror image stamp and filled in the area between the upright tree and the reflection tree with a basic black marker
For this card I used first stamped on the tree again using the versa mark pad and then stamped it in Timber Brown Staz on. I put on clear embossing powder and heat embossed. I then brayered half the top half with Soft Sky, Blue Bayho, and sponged on Not Quite Navy. For the land, I brayered first with certainly celery and then sponged on Old Olive. I then took another post it note to make the mountains, and the horizon. Last but not least, I stamped on the buck.
Thanks for looking, and I hope you like it
Relax
This card was done for my BIL's birthday who's birthday is in 2 weeks. Since I wanted to do a masculine card and I find I always reach for my brayer when doing one. So I dusted it off and used an oldie but goodie retired set from Stampin Up from the sketches series. Before I put it away, I will do one more for my son who commented on this card and who's birthday is next week. Now to think of something to do...
Stamp: Stampin Up: Sketches, Sea Grass?

Storm Approaching
As some of you know, I live right on the water and have a spectacular view of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Manhattan skyline. This is the view I have from my terrace and living room if I look the other way, I have Jamaica Bay and the Manhattan skyline.
New York has been having its share of rain. We've had so much rain, I feel like I live in London. But anyway, I was sitting in the living room and I saw these dark clouds rolling in. They rolled in so quickly, it became dark in an instant. So, I ran and got my camera and took a few pictures from my terrace. I actually got lucky and captured the lightening. And yes, that is a surfer heading into the water.. That narly dude is still looking for that big wave...
A surfer heading into the water as the storm approaches..if you click on the picture you will see one surfer riding the wave in..
Not sure if you can tell, but those little blobs in the water, are surfers but again if you click on the picture you get a better view...
The lightening was really spectacular, I lucked out by capturing Mother Natures display.
