My Rock Idol
I made this for my 16 year old soon to be 17 year old son who plays the guitar. His birthday is in a few weeks so this is perfect for him. I can not tell you how much he loves playing. As soon as I saw this image, I had to buy it so that I could create a special card for him. Same goes for the guitar in the corner which I purchased at Michaels last year and put it aside knowing I would find the right card for it. So son, this cards for you.....

This was created for The Sugar Bowl Challenge #40, which is "Do it Yourself"... So I choose this image along with sketch #36...

A Vintage Christmas in July
I did this for the Just Magnolia Challenge which is to make a vintage card and paired it up with the Magnolia Down Under Challenge which is to create a Christmas Card. Well as soon as I saw the challenges I knew it was time to ink up this beautiful image that I received from my sweet friend Tammi... I also decided to try my hand at making a countdown card. So fun..took me all day, but it was tons of fun and now that I made one, definately will do a few more.. Well at least that's what I say now..lol...anyway you can find the directions here
I heat embossed Liquid Applique around the trim of her coat, and went back to my roots and used my aqua painter to paint the ribbon.

Welcome Baby
Nothing like waiting till the last minute to do something. I have a baby shower to go to today at 12. I am usually so good about doing things and not waiting till the last minute, but it just crept up on me. So not only did I run to pick up the present yesterday, but I also waited until yesterday to make the card. Nothing like procrastination right...lol

Mini Accordian File Folder
I was asked to participate in a WhipperSnapper image swap, I said that I would contribute 2 different images for the swap. The swap is for 10 + 2 so my total contribution is 24. Instead of doing the usual which is to put them into a clear baggie and mail them off to the person in charge of the swap, I decided to make it a little special for her since she is putting all her time and effort into it and put them in this mini accoridan file folder...I love doing these, they are so much fun. And it was perfect for the images since each pocket in the inside holds 4 images. The directions can be found
here
for the inside of the folder, I cut mine the same size of the cardboard just shaving a little off the ends, the measurements above call for the inside cover to be cut smaller
Here it is open

Everybody Art Challenge #100 Thoughts Of You
I am entering this in theEverybody Art Challenge which will be my first entry. When I saw that this weeks challenge was to use Blue which is my favorite color, I knew this was right up my alley. I decided to take out an older set from Stampin Up and make this card for my sister just to let her know I am thinking of her. This is one set that I will never part with. I usually drag out my brayer whenever I reach for this set, but decided to try making clouds using a scallop. I've seen this technique quite often but finally was inspired when I saw Jeanettes beautiful card and tutorial which can be found by following
this link
So thanks for the inspiration Jeanette.. and Sis this one's for you.

Friday Sketchers 110 Meets Magnolia Down Under #54
It has been ages that I have been able to sit down and do any kind of crafting. My absense was due to my husbands MS which has finally taken a toll on his body, his legs don't work like they used to so things have been quite hard around here. He is basically in a wheelchair now, so it takes it's toll on everyone in the family. In spite of all this, his spirits are high, and he has a great outlook on everything.
So after all that is said and done, I made this for my sons 20th birthday which is tomorrow. It is for both the Magnolia Down Under Challenge and the Friday Sketchers Challenge. Nothing like waiting til the last minute, but it did get me into crafting again, and I hope it sparks an interest again. Then again, my son never would have forgiven me if I purchased a store bought card..lol
Here goes...
