Welcome Baby

Well it's the beginning of September and this week it's Anything Goes at Mo's.  So since I am back at work after a two month absence I am pooped to say the least.  That alarm clock going off at 4:30 in the morning is not pleasant to say the least.  So I decided to keep it simple this week at make a tag for a baby blanket that I made for my Assistant Principal's granddaughter.Which I must say I finished  just in the nick of time because the baby was due in September and I put in the last stich on FridayAugust 30th  and the baby was just a tad early and was born August 30th as well.

Here is a picture of the blanket and the tag

Baby Blankets & Tags

It's my turn to host this weeks challenge and once again I tried to keep it as easy as I could so I thought buttons and bows. Now for those of you who remember, I am bow challenged, and couldn't tie a bow for the life of me, still can't. Then I found this Bowdabra thing at Michael's and viola, I'm making bows. and now I can't stop. I'm adding bows to everything. Ok enough of my rambling back to this weeks challenge. Just use one of Mo's adorable images add a button and bow and you're good to go.

Since, I have lots of new babies heading my way this year, two of my nieces are expecting, one we know is a boy, one we don't know what it will be, so it will be a surprise. I am knitting up a storm. Plus one for one of the teachers at work and the Assistant Principals daughter are also expecting. Out of the four pregnancies, three are due in July and one is due in September. So I thought what better way to tie the blankets off than to make these tags . I took out my Cricut Expression and used my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cartridge and cut these tags at 6", and printed the image on them using this beautiful image called New Baby that you can find HERE.

Here are three blankets blankets,

BINGO no I mean TANGO!!!!

As many of you know, I work for a school, one of my responsibilities is to put in permits which is when the building is going to be open after the kids are dismissed. Sometimes we have parent involvement activities and one of them is Bingo. No money involved but prizes. So I put in my permit and the next day it gets rejected, so I call downtown to find out why and they say that it is a form of gambling (for years I put them in as Bingo so I was baffled). So now we call it "Game Night". About a month later I go to another schools fund raiser. This one is in a restaurant, but because it is Bingo and the new rules we can't yell out Bingo, so they changed the first two letters of the cards to spell out the word Tango and we played Tango all night. We start to yell Bingo and then say "No Tango"..lol I must say we all had a great time.

Ok now on to my card, Sheila choose the theme this week, and I really loved the theme. So I must say great choice Sheila!!!! I decided to use Sunday's Child which you can find HERE. I thought she was perfect for this card. Looks like she just won right? Once again I used one of the postcards that I found on the esty shop Iralijma Shop this is the one that started it all. This was the first one I purchased and of course it fit perfectly into this weeks theme. They are digital down loads and you can find it HERE along with all her other postcards.

Feel Better Anna

Ok Pat, What's up with the stitching? Although I have my sewing machine near me in the dining room. It has collected dust just like it did when it was in the closet, but at least I took it out of the closet. One of these days, I'll actually sew on a card, I really do love how it looks but for now, yes ladies I cheated and used these gorgeous papers I found at Micheal's that already have "Real" stitching on them. Hey, if the shoe fits, well you know the rest of the saying.

I decided to make this card and alter this book for one of the teachers I work with who was diagnosed with breast cancer and just had a mastectomy. She went every year for her mammogram so it came quite as a shock. This nurse is perfect for a get well card and you can find her HERE

I also found this book at Michael's, and I love altering them and of course went back for a couple more. Hey they were only $1.50 and make such a nice gift.

So here is a picture of the Book:

Plain and Simple..Don't know what you were thinking about Pat...Not one of my forte's especially since that means no flowers or frills. Candy Bar Card - Fancy Folds-DT Post #108 For Mo's

Well, it still Pat's turn to be our hostess with the mostess, and this week she decided for us to do something a little different with our cards and try our hands at a fold or two. So I had to put on my thinking cap since I did an easel card last week, I didn't want to do another one this week and Viola!!!! the light bulb went off or is it on and I remembered these Candy Bar Cards. So here is my take on this weeks theme Fancy Folds.

I love making these Candy Bar Cards, especially when it comes to eating these "King" size chocolate bars inside. I've made a few of these already and have gotten Oooh's and Aaah's each and every time and they really are so easy to make. I found the directions on the Scor-Pal web site which you can find HERE.

Here is a picture of the Candy Bar Card Open:

The original card doesn't have the band, so I decided to add it along with this adorable image Little Elf Pipa which you can find HERE I think it adds so much more to the card.

Here is a picture of the Band:
