Winter Wonderland-Challenge #18-Purse Box with Directions

So glad that I am home today so that I can play along. NYC schools are closed for Yom Kippur so I am taking advantage of my day off. This week at Winter Wonderland, the challange is to make a Gift Card, Gift Box or Wrapping Paper. So I choose to make a Purse Box using my Top Note dies. The original directions were sent to me by my friend Debbie in Washington. I am not sure where she got them from so who ever designed this.. Thank you. But when I went to follow them, I realized that scoring directions were backwards... Found this out the hard way, so I am re-writing them so you can follow along.

Directions below using a Halloween Theme. I will send this little purse to my niece filled with candy corn.

1 - 5 1/2" X 6" piece of Card Stock
2 - Top Note Die Cuts using Card Stock
2 - Top Note Die Cuts using Designer Paper I cut around the dotted lines so that it will be layered.
After you place the 2 pieces together, you need to trim one end of the top note so that you have a straight line..see picture below.. the straight end will go to the top of the purse. Do this on both pieces. the picture shows one cut and one not cut
1 - Large Nestie Scallop Circle using Card Stock
1 - Large Nestie Circle using Designer Paper
2 - Large Eyelets for circle. This is to thread your ribbon through
1 - Piece or Ribbon
1 - Flower or what ever you choose to embelish the closure
1 - 5/8" Velcro Coin Rounds for closure
Double sided tape
Paper Piercer to pierce holes in scallops

Score the 5 1/2" side at 1" and 4 1/2",
Turn and take the 6" side and score at 2 1/2 & 3 1/2. Cut the 2 1/2" & the 3 1/2" line up to the score do this on both sides so it looks like this...

Assemble and you will have a little box see picture below along with all the cut pieces

Assembled box with top note pieces attached will look like this...
For the top of the purse which is the scallop circle, I eyeballed it up to the
2 1/2" line of my scor pal and scored at the 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" and folded it and placed the eyelets in it.

Put ribbon through the top, Assemble pieces, put your velcro circle on the inside of the front portion of the circle decorate closure and viola.. Purse Box

I hope I explained everything so that you understand, this is my first attempt at a tutorial, Enjoy, and thanks for looking

Merry ChrisMoose-Winter Wonderland #17

This was done for the Winter Wonderland Challange. This weeks challenge was Hot Chocolate. So we had to make a card with that in mind. I remembered I had this wonderful Riley image and imediately dug him out and colored and designed this card. Unfortunately, I never had a chance to assemble it until today so once again I am getting it in in the nick of time and didn't think I would even be able to upload it since I don't have any phones and am shocked my internet is up and running since it wasn't yesterday.

So here I sit waiting for the Verizon guy to get me up and running again. Not a happy camper at the moment since I've only had FIOS for 2 weeks and the text message they sent me said he is due to arrive anywhere today up to 8PM tonight. Seems they don't give you those wonderful windows on Saturdays..ugh!!!!

Paper: Basic Grey: Wassail Paper Pad, Stampin Up: Old Olive, Paper Trey: White
Extras: Nesties, Christmas Prismas, Self Adhesive Rhinestones, Snowflake Punch, MS Branch Punch,

Sarah Kay

Just a quick post today, since I have so much running around to do. It will be at least another 2 weeks before things slow down at work and I can come home and play. So far I've put in 30 hours of OT this month so by the time I come home I am to pooped to pop as they say so not much crafting is getting done and I so want to play along with all my fellow bloggers. Sorry if I haven't had time to peek in on your blogs as often as I usually do, but I will soon, I promise...

I did this for a co-workers birthday that is on Monday. She is a fellow crafter who comes to my house all the time to play, so I am sure she will enjoy it.

Thanks for looking... and Happy Saturday

Pooh Bear

Nothing fancy today, just a quick post before I run to work. I did this over the weekend and am just getting a chance to upload it. This was made for my little nephew who turns 4 in a few days... What little kid doesn't love good ole Pooh Bear. I purchased this cartridge back in December of last year when they were on sale and have yet to use it, so I dug out my trustly ole cricut and put it to use. It was a fast and fun card to do.

Thanks for looking

This was done for the Friday Sketchers challenge which is sponsered by Ladybug and Friends, talk about getting it in in the nick of time. Glad I made it!!!

Frosty Challenge at WinterWonderland #15

Over at the Winter Wonderland site, this weeks challenge is to create a card using a snowman in honor of Frosty the Snowman. Now, I cann't get that song out of my head. Well, who doesn't love snowman. This image was from my dear friend in Idaho. Thanks Tammi.. At first, I didn't want to use him since I only had 2 and he is just so darn cute. But hey, now I have a chance to win my very own.

I used a pre-embossed card from DCWV and my trusty nesties. Love layering the squares and colored it in with copics, it was a quick and fun card to do. So thanks for letting me get another card done for the holidays...
