Friday Sketchers & Magnolia Stamp Lovers-Purple & Black

I am posting two cards today, both for Halloween, needed to finish my halloween cards so that I can mail them out on Monday or Tuesday the latest. I think I have two more to do. The funny thing is that I had a list on a pad in my kitchen of those I am sending them out to, figured I check the names off as I finish the card so I look at the list and the last entry I see that my son wrote "New Park". I must say it gave me a chuckle because "New Park" is the pizzeria that we works in, I guess he wants me to make one for his boss at work.

Anyway, card number one was done for both Friday Sketchers and Magnolia Stamp Lovers. This weeks sketch over at Friday Sketchers is by Jacque absolutely loved it and for the Magnolia Stamp Lovers challenge the theme this week is to use Purple and Black. Well, I've been itching to use this paper, and it was perfect for this challenge. So here is my take on both challenges.

MDUC #68 & Magnolia Stamp Lovers Sparkling

Haven't had a chance to make any cards lately, by the time I get home from work, I'm too pooped to pop, and my weekends have been very full. But I knew I had to play with this sketch by Debbie at MDU and at least get a Halloween card done. So this is my take on the MDU Sketch and Sparkling for Magnolia Stamp Lovers Challenge which will be my first entry for this Challenge.

Halloween Triangle Boxes

I made these adorable boxes for some family and friends for Halloween. I just have to fill them up with some chocolate before I ship them off. They were so fun to make. Once I got the hang of all the scores and folds I was just whipping them out. Can't wait to make some more... I found a video tutorial on you tube by just typing in How to Mae a triangle box and to my surprise found one by Becca. I tried to put in the link but couldn't get it to work.

Weekly Planner Before & After

Every year, I usually make desk calendars for my family and friends. Making 9 sets of 12 can be stressful. Especially when this year the 9 becomes 11 since my niece and soon to be niece have hinting that they would love a set for there desks as well. However this year, I haven't started that project, and don't know if I will. but hey, the night is still young I can still change my mind and decide to make them and really be stressed out..lol. So for now, I have made these weekly planners/calendars that I found at the $1 store. They are just perfect for your pocketbook.
So here is the before shot:

Once I took the cover off, I saw I had cardboard to work with, so I used the cover as
a template to cut out the cardstock and then taped it to the planner/calendar decorated the front and viola. Hand made weekly planner.

Here is my finished product:

Paper: SU: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Jolly Holiday Blue: Bazil CS
Extras: MS Border Punch, Nellie Snellin Flower Punch, Self-Adhesive Pearls

Sketch Saturday #120

This was done for the Sketch Saturday Challenge. As soon as I saw the sketch, the put the papers together which is usually how I start any card, the hardest part was picking out an image. Everything was either too cute and wasn't right for the paper, or too big and overwhelmed the paper. So I started digging in my closet and came up with this. When I first stamped the image, I stamped it on vanila cardstock but it just stood out like a sore thumb, so I used one of the plain pieces of cardstock that came with the pack which matches so much better.

Image: Stampin Up: Natures Silouette
Papers: I think these are DCWV and is a 4 x 6 pack and is flocked, & SU: Basic Black
Extras: Black Rhinestones, Nestibilities, Ribbon
Ink: Momento

Autumn Brook & Lakeside Cove

The weather has taken a turn here in New York City. The air has that crispness to it so you know fall is fast approaching. With that in mind, I decided to make this card for my nephew. I find when ever I make a masculine card for my family and friends I reach for my stampscapes. This time, i didn't use my brayer, but used sponges since there were too many fall colors I wanted to use for the trees. Boy, did I get my hands dirty, but in the end it was worth it. They are much more vibrant in person, unfortunately, I couldn't get a good shot..

since I had all my inks out and the stampscapes out and my hands were covered in ink, I made this as well..after all we always need those extra masculine cards...

Stamps: Stampscapes: Autumn Brook, Rocky Peaks (small), Rowboat, Lakeside Cove, Grass
Paper: Stampin Up: Old Olive, Papertrey: Summer Sunrise, Autumn Abundance, Dark Brown CS I think is Bazil.
Extras: Top Note Die, MS Border Punch, Distressed Embossing Folder
Inks: I used both Stampin Up & Adirondack Inks
