Prom Night

Last night was my son's prom. So I thought I would share a few shots of my little boy...Ok at 6' 1 1/2" not so little...lol The prom was held at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan.

This is shot of my son on my terrace..you can see some of my beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. It was a very grey day, misting at the time, I really wanted to get some shots on the beach itself, but when we left, the skies opened up...

The rest of the pictures were taken at the Pre Prom house, which is where they all met up and waited for the "Party Bus" to pick them up... Don't they all look great

His Prom Date. Also if you look closely, he has a black eye.. he was in a basketball tournament on Wednesday and got elbowed in the eye.. Of all things right before Prom..I did try and cover it up with make up though...

Group Shot: This is America's Future. These kids are some of the brightest that New York City has of offer, Stuyvesant ranks #1 in all New York State and 25 in the entire United States. All of these kids are off to some fantastic colleges, Duke, Turlene, Annapolis, Harvard, Yale etc..As for my son, he was offered some impressive seats, at some impressive colleges along with some impressive scholarships but in the fall he will be attending The MacCaulay Honors Program at Hunter with a full scholarship...See Mama didn't raise no fool.. This way he starts out life debt free for his undergraduate degree and in four years when he's off to Graduate School we can worry about loans then: Look out Harvard Law School here he comes

Thanks for looking

Wild Orchid Craft

I used this adorable Fairy Doodle image and followed the sketch over at Wild Orchid Crafts. The sketch was designed by the ever so talented Bev. She is truly an inspiration when it comes to card making.

I also purchased a table top tent to help me take better pictures. I am still playing with where to place the lights as to not cast a shadow. Guess I didn't quite set them up right since this is still a little dark. So if anyone out there in blog land has a Cowboy Studio Light Tent Kit or another type of light tent, and can give me a pointer, I really would appreciate it.

GD Spot at Mo's Again-Doing the Happy Dance-Schools Out for Summer

This week over at Mo's Digital Challenge Blog Dawn is once again our hostess with the mostess and she decided it was time for a recipe. Her recipe for the week is A Recipe of Friendship. And yes, these Nuns are friends for life. Now you only need to use one image but there are 4 ideas for you to chose from so hop on over and get all the details, and while you're at it visit all the other DT members blogs, they would love to hear from you.

For this challenge I decided to stir in a sense of humor and a lot of compassion, these Nuns are doing the happy dance because Schools Out for Summer. Working for a school I have compassion for the teachers, and I can definatly understand the happy dance, especially when I'll be doing that same happy dance in a few weeks.... So here is my take on Dawns receipe.

I am keeping this card plain and simple since in actuallity it is for my son's 21st birthday. Inside the card will be two tickets to see the new smash hit on Broadway "Sister Act". I am sure he and his girlfriend will love it as much as I did. It is a great show!!! So Happy Birthday Son #1.. Enjoy your night out in the city.

Candy Bar Card

I found this tutorial on the Scor-Pal site which you can find here
so I thought I would give it a try. I changed it up a bit, by adding the slip off band along with the image in the circle, I wanted to give it that extra pizazze. It really was so fun to make and I can see myself using it for many different occassions since they would be great party favors, or that extra something for a family member, teacher or friend.

Here is a picture of it open:

Guest Designer at By The Cute & Girly - In The Garden

I was so excited when I found out that I was chosen as one of the Guest Designers for the month of June over at the By The Cute & Girly Challenge Blog which is a monthly challenge. As soon as I found out that the theme was "In The Garden", I immediately thought of Mo's adorable images which can be found here, they were perfect for this challenge. I also remembered seeing seed packets on Splitcoast Stampers years ago and beleive me at my age remembering something from long ago can be quite the challenge...lol I am lucky I remember what I had for breakfast. So with that in mind, I went to work and made these seed packets. I Computer generated one Text Box, inside another Text Box, wrote the words, cut and pasted the image inside the box, and viola. I then took out my Cricut Expression using the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge and cut it to fit the page in blackout mode.

So here are the seed packets that I made using How Quick They Grow & Punkin.
