Women in Our Lives

This week over at Mo's our theme is Women in our Lives and what women doesn't love a pair of shoes. How many of us have an obsesson with shoes? Or which one of us is going to admit it lol. OMG!!do I wish I could wear some of those high heel shoes I used to wear back in the day running down Madison Avenue for the bus. But alas those days are gone.. I now trip over my own two feet.. But this adorable little girl called Big Shoes reminded me so much of those days when I was a little girl trying on my Mom's shoes and those days when I was able to wear those 6" pumps and dance all night that I had to have her and you can find her HERE.

So don't  fun don't forget to use one of Mo's adorable image so you can enter to win a $5 gift certificate to shop in her store.

Anything Goes at Mo's

Well, another month has gone by I can't believe it's March already and I'm counting down the days for my "Spring Break" at the end of this month since I lost my Mid-Winter break because of Hurricane Sandy. As we all know the first challenge of the month  means "Anything Goes at Mo's"... and I decided to make a gift set for a friends birthday.  So I made this notebook from a steno book I found in the $1 bin at Michael's in the summer which is no more since "Sandy" hit so I'm glad I stocked up on them since they will not rebuildilng it and now I don't have a "local" craft store I can easily drive to.

So with all that said and done, here is the NoteBook made from the Steno Pad.. and yes I did at one time use Steno, Pitman to be exact but those skills are "Gone With the Wind".

I used A Combination of images from Mo's Store the first for the notebook is  Lil Ballerina you can find
HERE
Here is a picture of the Note Book

Since I wanted to make her a nice little gift set, I also made here a a post it note holder using the Bear from Tiny Dancer Elements that you can find HERE

Treat Box

This week it's anything but square, a hard one for me. Although I like to think outside the box, when it comes to cards, well, lets just say, I've always stuck to square ones. So thanks Kathleen for making me think "Outside the Box".  I still love you...lol  I thought this pillow box would  be perfect since it can be used for such a variety of things like birthday treat boxes, little thank you's .  All you do is decorate then fill them up with your favorite confection and you're good to go!!!

At first I was going to make a tag, figured that was an easy way out of  not making something square.  So I went through my Cricut cartridges looking for my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge and my hand hit this Easter Cartridge and a light bulb went off since it has a pillow box on it. Only this one has a little bunny cut out on it.  So I covered up with the band (don't tell anyone).  These Pillow Boxes are great since they can be used for anything.   I used this new image from Mo's called Dragon Hugs which I fell in love with the second I saw it you can find HERE  So here goes my Anything But Square

Birthday

Happy Valentine's everyone!!! Lots of love around Mo's since we have the greatest DT team ever.  Love you guys!!!  and I love my blogging buddies too!!!  So Happy Valentines Day once again.

This week  it's Tine's turn and her choice was so easy since it is Birthday.  Now how easy is that.  So I made this little drummmer boy called Dante for my husbands aide Althea.  Her son's birthday was last week and she asked me to make a card for her son.  I choose Dante because it reminds me of her with her hair like that.

You can find Dante's Drum HERE  So without further adieu here is a picture of the card resting on a infinity scarf that I made for myself. I fell in love with the yarn and the colors when I went to the Vouge Knitting Live Show that they had here in New York.  I was like a deer in the head lights with all that gorgeous yarns and textures around me.  I was like baa baa black sheep came home with three bags full...ol
